Dr. Emilia Balc

Dr. Emilia Balc became a licensed veterinarian in Romania in 1997. She co-owned a veterinary clinic until 2006, when she immigrated to Canada with her family. Her love for animals began early in life, growing up with a variety of animals, including cats and dogs. Her observation for different stages of the animals’ growth, their behavior and their interaction among each other and with people served as an invaluable education for her career. She has worked at various levels in veterinary clinics and emergency hospitals prior to joining the Southpointe team. Her life and career path reflect her personal resilience and strength. Her passion and commitment to the animals push her to find new ways of healing and she is currently studying Veterinary Acupuncture. She has two pets of her own, Easter - a pomchi, and a cat named Calista.

Southpointe Pet Hospital is committed to doing our part in protecting our community from the spread of COVID-19. To allow us to continue operating during the pandemic, we have implemented a CLOSED DOOR POLICY.

For the safety of our staff, clients and our entire community, ONLY ONE CLIENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO ACCOMPANY THEIR PET INTO THE BUILDING AT A TIME, and A MASK MUST BE WORN TO ENTER.

When you arrive in our parking lot, please remain in your vehicle and call (403) 532-0085. Our staff will advise you on when you can enter for your appointment, or deliver prescriptions and food orders to your vehicle. If you do not have a phone or if your animal is experiencing an emergency, please knock on the door to alert our staff.
